A KnA’s letter of condolence to the triple murder in North Carolina

a Letter of Condolence

We are deeply shocked to hear that our three siblings were violently murdered. We feel so heart-broken, to say the least, as if we encountered the terror ourselves. We didn’t want to believe our ears and eyes when we experienced the whole incident unfolding in the news and in Shadaw Journal.

We will never understand the hurts and cries you are going through as parents, siblings and closest relatives. We will never fully feel the depths of pains each and every one of you are facing.

However, we want to assure you that you are not alone in dealing with such immeasurable loss. We are with you every step of the way. You are in our prayers.

As kindhearted Burmese Karenni people, we feel so much anger to the senseless act of crime. We are here to show the firmest support and the most sincere solicitude to you. Though we are far away from each other, our warm hearts are within reach for all of you.

To show our support, we have started a series of monetary donations from most states. Even though we understand that no amount of money would repair the pain, we thought it would be one of the ways for us to show our solidarity in the spirit of Karenni.

The last but not the least is the respective local Karenni communities in North Carolina who have been so active in organizing and helping our family. You represent the core value of who we are as a Karenni people. Also, special thanks for all the other great organizations out there, who have been working very hard to help our dear family.

On behalf of all Karenni people in the United States, please accept our deepest sympathy. May God bless you.
